Slither & Scale was a prototype born from the 2024 GMTK game jam prompt “Built to scale.”
The triple-entendre title inspired the reimagining of the classic game SNAKE as a 3D physics-based platformer.
In S&S, the player is tasked with eating to grow and reach increasingly disparate limbs of an expansive multi-level canopy.
Within the 4-day game jam duration, I expanded ObiRope to create a GPU-simulated snake of dynamic length.
Inspired by Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, Snake Pass, Katamari Damacy, Playdead’s INSIDE, and Genndy Tartakovsky’s PRIMAL (thematically).
